Huge thank you to everyone for your kind words while I was under the weather! First thing first, I owe you guys a TON of money book club updates. The truth is, I’ve been struggling with this month’s book, “The Dumb Things Smart People Do With Money” and suspect some of you may be too. Don’t fret we are going to persevere! Please send any questions or comments you may have on the book and I’ll be sure to answer all of those in a wrap up episode coming soon.. I’m happy to announce next month’s book: “Your Money or Your Life” by Vicky Robin.

On today’s show I chat with practicing attorney Allison Ford that has reignited her passion for art and now runs a successful side hustle as an artist! We chat about how she found her way back to art, how she created space in her life to pursue this creative passion, and why she ultimately decided to turn the passion project into a profitable business.

Before we get started, most of you may know I am at the very beginning of my trip to Ecuador! I hope you’ll follow along the adventure over on Instagram @thehappylawyerproject. Hope to see you there!

What you’ll learn:

  • Allison’s journey in the law
  • What sparked the start of Allison’s passion for art
  • The benefits of taking and using a sabbatical wisely
  • How to create time and space for things you are passionate about
  • Tips for prioritizing your day
  • Why Allison decided to monetize her passion
  • Things to consider when pricing your service or product
  • One major key to pursuing your passion

  1. How do you deal with failure or disappointment?
  2. How do you prioritize your own happiness?
  3. What is a mindset shift that transformed your life?
  4. Name a book that has inspired your journey.
  5. What do you think separates lawyers who are happy to lawyers who struggle to find happiness in life with a law degree?

Fan Question: From Melissa on Instagram: How did you decide, or how do you decide how much money to invest in your creative pursuit?
